Kids NetLinks Extreme Web Browser was created keeping children in mind. The user interface is very kid-friendly and very basic, which will be very attractive for children below the 12-year age bracket. What I found interesting was the web links to children websites in the Kids NetLinks menu bar. This bar has about 24 links to various websites, which your kids can browse at their leisure.
The browser loads faster than usual browsers and is totally customized for kids. The left bar has buttons with website links, which lead to those sites. I find this a good idea, as children are not known to be good at typing URLs by themselves. The whole process of surfing is simplified to pre-suggesting and point-and-clicking. The GUI is very intuitive and straightforward on the whole. A status bar above the address bar shows the loading progress of websites.
There are also menu items with links to some advanced Web resources. The Research bar, for instance, directs one to websites which answer questions - Answers.com, Bartleby.com, Columbia.com and Dictionary.com. One can also access his emails using the Email menu item - Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo. The Clean Web Tracks option will clear all history, temporary website files and cookies on your system. All in all, this browser is a must-have for educational practice of kids, with some complements for their parents as well.
